The Wetwood

The Wetwood is a temperate rainforest huddled against The Spine, Allandria’s longest and tallest mountain range. Once mostly uninhabited except for small fishing villages, it was claimed as the domicile of Termel Evengrip, a green dragon, about 500 years ago.

Termel Evengrip rules the Wetwood from a wooded valley between Mt. Amessonee and Mt. Manidwell in the Spine, and the only rule that she enforces is that there will be no government but hers, and no hierarchies except those that support her rule. She has made the Wetwood her domicile, and has to this day repelled any power trying to claim authority over her lands, and it is primarily due to her presence that the Wetwood falls outside the borders of neighboring countries. She allows sentient beings to settle and work on her lands as long as they take care of the land and don’t try to impose any rule on each other that isn’t hers. She is a distant but fair ‘ruler’ as such things go, and often takes on paladins and warlocks to keep her peace within the Wetwood.

Because of Termel’s influence, the Wetwood has become a haven for political outcasts from both Coscroa and Lypu.
