Coscroa

Coscroa is a rich, wealthy country to the south of the Warblight, containing both deep jungles to the east and vast grasslands to the west. It borders the Wetwood and its associated mountains on the western side, and Niasa’s dry deserts on it’s eastern side.

Coscroa is a land of religion and magic; druids, paladins, rangers, and clerics are common here. It is the provenance of elves, half-elves, humans, and tieflings.

Coscroa is a theocracy organized around the worship of Roa, Mother of Rains. Roa is worshipped as both a life-giver and a death-dealer, a bringer of both the rains that nourish the western jungles and eastern grasslands in Coscroa’s heartland, and the hurricane-strength storms that pummel Coscroa’s southern coast for half of the year. Roa’s temples dictate how the jungles are to be harvested, what should be planted at what time during the year, the defense of the country against outsiders, and how criminals are punished. Years of strong storms are seens as years when the ruling of Coscroa did not align with Roa’s wishes. The high priest/priestess of Roa is Coscroa’s leader, and rules from Coscroia, a city on the southern coast, magically protected from hurricanes so that the ruler lives within the reach of Roa’s anger should they anger her.
