- The party descended into the mist that had covered Willowshore. Shenlin and Erlan both remembered and relayed the old “Lantern Poem” to the rest of the group:
Lazy Adou took a break, and
did not light the lamp that day.
This proved to be a big mistake, for
then the ghosts came out to play!
Hazy mist and moon of blood,
all because he just gave up.
- The party arrived at the Spider Gate only to find that the statue of Ugly Cute had walked off and the lantern was not lit. Aseshoki remembered that lantern oil would have been kept at the guard tower about a mile away.
- The party arrived at the guard tower to find two dead human guards and two dead “tiny blue grey humanoids.” The humanoids were nothing the party had seen before, but had been killed by the guards. The guards had been killed by snake bites; two dead snakes were found not far away. Inside the guard tower, they met Hai-er Hu the guard, who was very scared. She said the mist rolled in just after midnight, and that a bunch of the little blue monsters came with it. After her fellows died, she hid in the tower until they had passed. She heard heard bangs and roaring from downtown overnight. The party convinced her to come with them.
- The party headed next for Chiirona Inaka’s family home, where they found that a trio of ghostly ravens had Chiirona’s family under siege. They charged to the attack, and Shenlin went down in the first round.
